Save the date: Thursday 14 July 2022 Special Memorial Event for Sussex poet Tim Beech
at Grand Central, 29-30 Surrey Street, Brighton, BN1 3PA (Opposite the mainline station in central Brighton)
Sussex poet Tim Beech died in January. He was the quintessential Sussex poet. For many years he was a shepherd on the Lullington Heath English Nature Reserve near Eastbourne. He wrote about the natural world with great veracity, empathy and insight.
On July 14th Tim's son Tom is supporting a free event at Grand Central in Brighton. Please come along and read one of Tim’s poems as well as one of your own - perhaps a new poem remembering Tim. If you don’t have a copy of Tim’s poems then you can choose one to read on the night or by contacting me first. I hope as many of Tim’s poetry friends and contacts will be able to attend this memorial event which has such special significance, particularly for Tom. It’s also a great opportunity to meet up with friends old and new and celebrate poetry in Sussex.
